Rural and remote Queenslanders will have access to vital healthcare services sooner thanks to a $6.9 million government investment to boost support for the Royal Flying Doctor Service and LifeFlight.

The Queensland Government has committed to supporting the delivery of a new aeromedical base in Mount Isa that will help the RFDS and LifeFlight reach and transport patients sooner.

The move is part of the Queensland Government’s push to improve regional, rural and remote healthcare services and will complement its record $18.5 billion investment in critical health infrastructure.

The new $31.8 million aeromedical base is being delivered in partnership with the RFDS and the Commonwealth Government and is due to be completed this year.
