The new Greater Springfield Fire and Rescue Station is set to bolster emergency services in one Queensland’s fastest growing regions, delivering more firefighters, faster response times and enhanced capabilities for the community.
This $10 million project is part of a broader $36 million investment in new and replacement Queensland Fire and Rescue stations, targeting high growth areas such as Beerwah, Gympie South, Caloundra and Boonah.
Work is already underway on Gateway Drive, Augustine Heights, following a recent sod turning ceremony.
The station is expected to be operational in 2026 and will be staffed by 19 firefighters and five station officers, operating 24/7 year-round.
Equipped with firefighting trucks capable of pumping 4500 litres per minute, the station will serve a response area stretching from Redbank to Greenbank and South Ripley to Carole Park.
Its strategic location, adjacent to the area’s Queensland Ambulance Service facility, ensures quick access to major roadways to meet growing operational needs.
The new station will complement the neighbouring Camira and Ripley Queensland Fire and Rescue stations, strengthening emergency response in a region projected to double its population in the next 20 years. This investment underscores the Queensland Government’s commitment to keeping communities safe and well prepared for decades to come.
