Delivering more doctors

More junior doctors have joined the ranks of one of the state’s busiest hospital and health services to help ensure Queenslanders continue to receive an exceptional level of care.

Metro South Hospital and Health services this year welcomed the new doctors – one of the largest junior doctor intakes in the state’s history.

The junior doctors are currently completing one-year internships to gain clinical experience in areas such as emergency, cardiology, orthopaedics, anaesthetics, obstetrics and gynaecology, mental health and more.

The junior doctors are receiving expert teaching and guidance from experienced Queensland Health clinicians to help them build the skills they need to forge successful careers in the state’s public health system.

Each junior doctor will be able to choose the clinical speciality they wish to pursue, once they complete their internship.
