Queenslanders deserve to feel safe in their communities, their homes, and their businesses.
The Queensland Government has introduced a range of new laws to help restore safety to Queensland communities.
The new laws mean the rights of victims’ now take priority over the rights of young criminals in sentencing, young offenders will face adult sentences for serious crimes and detention for young offenders is no longer a last resort.
The Queensland Government is also keeping young people on track with new early intervention and rehabilitation programs.
