A new Toowoomba Hospital will be delivered as part of a multi-billion-dollar commitment in the 2025-26 Queensland Budget, to help meet growing demand for healthcare services in the Darling Downs region.
More than $18.5 billion is being provided to deliver a suite of new and upgraded hospitals and facilities, including the new Toowoomba Hospital.
Once built, the new Toowoomba Hospital will feature at least 538 overnight beds – including 118 new beds – a new cardiac hybrid theatre, additional dialysis chairs and an expanded emergency department.
The new hospital will be tailored to meet clinical needs and feature a multi-storey carpark, a plan to implement electronic medical records and better use of existing heritage-listed buildings at the Baillie Henderson site.
